XCA Authentication

Authentication is a security function that is about proving the identity of an online user, message sender, software application, logical server or an equipment.

Thanks to XC Technology, XCA Strong Authentication allows to authenticate easily and trustfully users and equipments on Internet and all other computer or telecommunication networks.

NTX Research has invented a unique strong authentication method for users and equipments :

• One Time Password(OTP) in challenge-response mode.
• Matrical system available on all physical devices : CD-card, USB data key, SD card, smart card, mobile phone, smartphone...
• Unbreakable user secret code.

No software is required to be installed on the client terminal: the browser and its JVM (Java Virtual Machine) are sufficient to perform the authentication. Most of current equipment are compliant with JAVA: Windows, Linux and Mac OS. When such a JAVA is updated on server side, all users take immediate advantage of the computing program or GUI improvements (instant deployment, easy to update).

The solution uses a JAVA midlet to operate on mobile phones(semi-secure environment) or smartphones which are still protected by the secret code even in case of terminal theft. The solution works with a mobile Internet plan, SMS mode or Off-Line (like a smart token).

XCA supports Java compatible phones, BlackBerry, Androïd and soon (Q2 2010) iPhone smartphones.
